iSkin and Tribute.ca Announces the Launch of the "Cool In You" Contest, Canada's Search for the Next Big Music Star

TORONTO, Canada - May 6, 2011—iSkin, a maker of premium gadget accessories, and Tribute.ca are thrilled to announce the launch of "Cool In You"—a national online singing competition in search of Canada's next big music star. Launching May 7, 2011, the "Cool In You" contest will invite aspiring Canadian indie musicians of all genres to have the opportunity to upload their music videos and share them with Canadians for a chance to win a $20,000 (CAD) music prize package including recording, mixing and mastering with platinum-selling recording producer Marcus Kane.

The "Cool in You" contest opens May 7, 2011 to all unsigned Canadian musicians and bands, aged 13 and up (excluding those in Quebec). All eligible entrants are encouraged to submit their three-minute (max.) music video at www.coolinyou.com. Once their video is submitted, the Canadian public will be encouraged to vote via social networking, narrowing the contest down to 10 of Canada's favourites. The top 10 finalists will be judged by a highly energetic panel of music industry judges who will decide on the final "Cool In You" winner!

Marcus Kane — An award-winning platinum-selling producer, Marcus Kane has sold over three million albums worldwide, scoring top ten hits in Europe, North America, Asia, India, and the Caribbean. Several of Kane's projects have been nominated for The JUNO Awards, the MTV Asia Awards, the Canadian Urban Music Awards, the East Coast Music Awards and the Canadian Independent Music Awards. Various recordings Kane has worked on in Canada have won "R&B Album of the Year". Some of the artists Kane worked with as a producer/remixer/arranger include: Shania Twain, Jon B., DJ Hasebe (Japan's #1 DJ), Snow (Elektra), Dondria (SoSoDef/Island), Kreesha Turner (Capitol), Glenn Lewis (Epic), Craig Smart (Warner Bros. Kwajo "Cinqo" Boateng — Kwajo is the CEO and co-founder of G7 Universe Inc. (G7)—a music content company that has embraced the advancements of digital media and technology in the urban entertainment sector. Kwajo Boateng is also an accomplished music producer and one-half of the Canadian hip hop group Ghetto Concept (GC), which won two JUNO Awards.
